Here are the answers to the questions most frequently asked regarding donations.

How can I cancel my regular donation ?

By e-mail donations@rebin.ch, by telephone to the number +41(0)76 773 55 97 or by mail. There is no specific timeframe for cancellation.

How can I report an address change ?

Send your new address to donations@rebin.ch or call the telephone number +41(0)76 773 55 97.

Can I make a donation on behalf of someone else ?

Yes, of course, you can make a gift donation. All you have to do is transfer the amount you wish to give, noting in the “Message” field of the deposit slip or electronic bank transfer that a gift donation is involved.

If you make a donation online, please mention in the “Comment” field that a gift is involved. Don’t forget to indicate the name and address of the person on whose behalf you are making a donation, so that we can send him or her a thank you letter.

What share of every franc is actually allocated to the projects? What percentage do administrative costs represent?

Administrative costs come to around 9%. These comprise expenses relating to human resources, accounting, IT, infrastructure, fundraising and advertising. 91% of all funds go to the projects. For more information, please consult our annual report.

Who audits ReBin Foundation’s activities ?

The ReBin Foundation is audited by external bodies. We assess every project onsite. The independent auditing entity Unifid SA audits the accounts of the ReBin Foundation, which is also subject to oversight by the Federal Authority for Foundations.

Are my donations to the ReBin Foundation tax-deductible ?

Yes, all gifts to the ReBin Foundation are deductible from federal taxes; they are also tax-deductible in the majority of cantons. In January, we sent out automatic confirmations for gifts made the previous year (generally over CHF 300).

Upon request, we can send such confirmations throughout the year. We will be glad to provide you with detailed information on the tax deductibility of donations.

Does the ReBin Foundation transmit my personal data to third parties ?

No, we never transmit your address to third parties. We have our own database and manage our addresses ourselves. We get a qualified firm to check the quality of the addresses in order to keep our address database up to date. Addresses are not stored outside our organisation.

Are my bank details secure for online donations ?

Yes, your bank details are transmitted in encrypted form via an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection, an encoded network connection between a server and a customer (browser).

Donations are handled by RaiseNow AG, based in Zurich. RaiseNow has been certified for PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and all transactions are securely transmitted via SSL.

What fees does the telecommunications provider charge for donations ?

Fees vary depending on the operator, averaging 5% of the donation amount. This is why we strongly urge you to make your donations via bank transfer or deposit slip.
